Rip Van Winkle Country Club is a Semi-Private, 9 hole golf course located in Palenville, New York, 10 minutes from Saugerties, Woodstock, Hunter and Catskill.
Rip Van Winkle Country Club first opened for play in 1928. The course was designed by Donald Ross,
The Rip was built on flat terrain and features wide fairways. The small greens are medium speed, and water hazards come into play on five holes. Hole #8 features a reflection of the mountains in its pond.
The Rip's 9 unique golf holes are the perfect place for beginners to start their journey of learning the game of golf, as well as offering a challenge to low handicaps or experienced golfers.
This 9 hole Donald Ross design has alternating tees plays like an 18 hole course. The "Front nine" plays to 3000 yards par 36 with 5 par fours, 2 par threes and 2 par fives. The "Back nine" plays just over 3000 yards, par 36 with 3 par threes, 3 par fours and 3 par fives.

The easiest WALK in the area. Maybe too short or easy for the pros but fun and playable with enough trees to punish yhe wild shooter. Needs Gold tees for us older folks. I am a member and a Senior Citizen.
